Christ Church began in the fall of 2003 under the guidance of Cornerstone Reformed Church of Carbondale, IL.

The following are a few of our commitments as a Christian congregation.

  1. Covenant Renewal Worship - Our services our structured after a biblical and historic pattern that includes the whole of the Christian in the conversation between God and man that is worship.
  2. Generationally Integrated - The Church is comprised by all who are baptised in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Young and old alike are to glory in the splendor of God's holiness, receive the blessings of His mercy, and offer praise as best they are able. So too, young and old alike are to fellowship with and learn from one another.
  3. Reformed Theology - This is a simple way of saying that with the historic Church we affirm the inspiration and authority of the scripures, that salvation in Christ alone, through faith alone, by grace alone, and that all things are to be done for the glory of the Triune God. Along with this we affirm the Apostles and Nicene Creeds, the Definition of Chalcedon, and the Reformed Evangelical Confession.
  4. Unity in Christ We hold fast to our distinctives and yet we know and are thankful that the body of Christ is broader than our local congregation. This applies to our desire to fellowship and serve alongside other area churches and our affiliation with and accountability to the Wycliff Presbytery of the Confederation of Reformed Evangelicals.
